Mitcham City Brass has just returned from the Australian National Band Championships as runners up in the C Grade Brass Band. Competing against 13 other bands from around the country, Mitcham’s consistent performance across all the on stage musical sections saw it easily take 2nd place in the aggregate, not far behind the eventual winners. With 2nd place in the Test and Own Choice, and 3rd in the Stage March and Hymn, the weeks and weekends of rehearsals and practice paid off. Congratulations to all who committed to the arduous preparations and trip to Melbourne and also to our musical director Steven Packer who wouldn’t take no for an answer!
