In a feat of endurance and stamina, the band completed the first of two sessions to record a series of marches composed by Raymond Fenech. Each of the eleven marches was recorded twice with a few sections recorded again for good measure. It goes without saying that by the end of the three and a bit hour session, lips were well and truly ‘cactus’ and the band was happy to step outside and enjoy a few moments of a fine spring afternoon. The famous Adelaide term ‘ March madness’ has taken on a new meaning with the nine remaining marches still to be recorded and our annual ‘Marches Concert’ just around the corner.
